Susan Schwartz

Sunset Strategic Marketing (SSM) is setting up their first release that will tap into the children’s marketplace with the Sign and Sign a Language: Spanish three (3) CD Set.

The “Sing And Sign A Language: Spanish” CD Set is not only a specially packaged three (3) CD set, the initial concept for this type of a release was also produced to create a learning kit for children in their greatest development years. The entire set was then developed by Susan Dezenhall Schwartz along with sound man, Eric Aubrey at his Red Armadillo recording facility outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The entire project was produced, performed and recorded by (Susan Dezenhall) Schwartz, a linguist, composer, vocalist, educator and mother.

(Susan Dezenhall) Schwartz, unimpressed with the educational programs available for children’s learning, decided to create a learning program herself and for the students she teaches every day. Starting this inevitable series of language learning products with Spanish became the obvious choice considering the ethnicity of children in her classes. However, Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset Records / SSM says that there are “plans to franchise this concept with more languages like Hebrew and French,” and that was always “the plan with Susan and me from day one.”

After three years of study, research and development, this very special set comes out as a CD and the label has already made way for the entire set to be available as downloads and ringtones. Lichterman goes on to say that “Susan (Dezenhall Schwartz) seems thrilled to have this be placed in stores,” and “I am thrilled to be working a project for kids.” This is first educational related product released at the Sunset/SSM company and the launch of this premier Spanish set “Sing and Sign A Language: Spanish” is perfect to educate and the songs are a great listen. The set includes not only lyric’s in Spanish, there is also a translation to English in the nicely packaged inside booklet and there are lesson plans for kids to follow along with too. The label; has these booklets available online (pdf) for everyone to download and print them out for free.

The CD includes songs that sound like classics/standards like the “Bienvenidos” and “Adios” intro and outré to each lesson plan, is not only accessible to people, it is also recognizable in some ways. And, there are a total of thirty seven (37) Spanish versions of songs that sound like there is choir of kids singing behind the lead vocals. The songs are also set up in ways for children to learn in a chronological way and to be able to follow along with throughout the entire Set. Disc one is Lesson I / Level I while the second disc is for Lesson/Level Plan II and then the third disc is the Level II lesson plan. Consumers will be able to buy all three (3) CDs in one set from retail stores that sell CDs and DVDs, and consumers will also be able to buy individual songs and the individual Discs at stores that sell downloads and streams. The overall sound is very colorful and the CD is perfect to listen to at home, in a car, as well as with teachers and parents.

Moreover, "Sing and Sign a Language" is a multi purpose type of a CD release that is to be used at home and the label also will be working with Alibris to get the product into libraries and educational facilities around the world. The label plans to work this into school programs and/or educational enrichment programs that teach the languages. And, teachers, educators and parents do not need to know the Spanish language to use this product in an effective and efficient way. Parents and teachers will learn the language too as they teach it. Both English and Spanish are translated as part of the special packaging. The lesson plans are also included in that special packaging.

The "Sing and Sign A Language: SPANISH" is the debut release and there are plans to create more multimedia educational projects at SSM. The content on the CD set tells a story in a way to help you learn every day things about life.

For more information about the “Sing And Sign A Language: Spanish” CD Set and language series, please visit the official web site at Sunset Records and at Sunset Strategic Marketing (SSM).

Let The World Unite

Let The World Unite

No-Limitt

It has come as no surprise when No-Limitt gained critical acclaim for their debut World Music and African Styled album Gbakurumo (Hold On) back in 2011. That crossover from a pure Nigerian and African artist, to a Top 40 Pop artist is why the main duo of the group is set to release their sophomore release with Tropical Records is entitled,Let The World Unit.

The first single being worked to radio stations around the world is the hit song, 'Celebration Of Life.' With more than 533 spins last week (up from 395 plays in its first week at radio), two PD's have already rated the song at a perfect “10” score rating while Maurizio Santi and Dee Jay Santi at Radio Mela, Modena Radio City and at Radio Mela states the first single as the “Future Hit summer 2014?” Also, 100% of all revenues gained by the sales and plays at YouTube of the 'African Life' Song and Music Video, go direct to the Stop Wild Life Crime at the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature). The video has already churned out more than 15,000 views before the street date and after about three weeks of being posted online.

The audacious duo is now set to release their second full length 10-track album "Let The World Unite", a fusion of straight up pop music along with a World Music base. The overall sound is traditional and accessible, especially if you won some type of sporting event or if you are just winning at life, the 'Celebration Of Life' single is an uplifting “It's A Small World” like vibe that is just righteous when it comes to living life happily. There are great hooks that will keep you singing along and the album is filled with songs and sounds with a steady bass line of African house rhythms known to be the “AfroLife Master” in the world of No-Limitt.

The entire album for that matter sends out great messages on so many levels. Its a very uplifting album keeping focused to their overall sound, however, most of the songs on this current CD are done in English which has been perfect for placement at radio and with regard to licensing (Debut CD was all sung in Nigerian and African). All songs are written by Skeldee and Danny who make up the main Duo part of No-Limitt. The entire new CD was Produced, Mixed and mastered by Emzreel Simeon at the Green Studio in Nigeria.

Songwriters/composers/singers Skeldee and Danny are the main vocalists and producer (Emzreel) Simeon no doubt went right at the mainstream to target the every listener and notably, the young, teenage and dance crowd - and so far, it has been great for the band. The result seen on this new CD is a fun and delightful collection of World Music and Pop Songs that reach out to ever walk of life that loves life. This album is an incredible way to show the true African form of expression which is great for music today.

No-Limitt's music and songs are about political issues, social issues such as abuse, poverty and the need for more education. It is their positive outlook on life that has given No-Limitt their individual quality in their music and that respect for life is what is heard in their music. More music and songs that round off the album are full of upbeat material with that steady bass line and wonderful melodies that has make up that great energy on this album. They also deliver songs with beautiful vocals and harmonies on the rest of the songs like “Keep Hope Alive”, “Asiko Mi (My Time)”, “Let The World Unite”, “African Life (Afrolife)”, “Oti Ya (It’s Happening)”, “Celebration Of Life”, “Ibadinijo (Wine Your Waist)”, “Happy Birthday”, “Enemies”, “Ore Te Se Funmi (Good Things You Have Done For Me)".

No-Limitt

Gbakurumo (Hold On), is the No-Limitt answer to an Afrolife Master sound is set to be released on Tropical Records on May 24th!
The boundless energy with No-Limitt is the picture of what accompanies the sounds of an Afrolife Master beat, and with the release of Gbakurumo (Hold On) on May 24th, the Nigeria music artist can show that to the world. The albums harmonies are perfect with conga drums and his incredible lead vocal on every one of the ten songs being released on Tropical (Records). The album Gbakurumo (Hold On) brings excitement, if anything, in that Afrobeat music is popular today; Gbakurumo (Hold On) is an accessible and colorful World Music CD release.

And he says that “No-Limitt is the perfect Nigerian music artist and band leader to get his message to the rest of the world.” (Don) Lichterman also says that “the album is a vital work of contemporary World Music,” or what is described as an “Afrolife Master” sound or “Afrobeat.”
No-Limitt and the ensemble on the brand new CD release, is a great sounding band with a great sounding new CD, Gbakurumo (Hold On), with hints of dub, hip hop and world music. The full length album is filled with ten songs, the first single, Imele (God You've Done It), being worked to radio in May this year.

Various Artists Make Up the "How Weed Won The West" Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" (Sunset Records Soundtracks) CD Which Hits Stores on October 19

“How Weed Won The West” takes its message to the music by releasing an eclectic soundtrack CD with Sunset Records for the film that is opening in theaters this month.

New York, NY, October 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- “How Weed Won The West” takes its message to the music by releasing an eclectic soundtrack CD with Sunset Records for the film that is opening in theaters this month.

Award Winning Film Documentarian Kevin Booth also makes his solo music career debut as a participant on the Sunset Records film’s soundtrack featuring an all-star various artist title compilation CD, very naturally, and the filmmaker opens and closes the soundtrack CD with his songs. His electronic ballad “Baby Kush” stars as the album’s opening track with the album telling a story through to the closer “Drug War 2,” a Kevin Booth collaboration with Nick Knoc, with twelve (12) songs made up of rock, hip-hop, reggae, quirky, rap and electronic tunes on the compilation Soundtrack CD. (Kevin) Booth isn’t the only eclectic artist that makes a contribution to the soundtrack, 3 All Mighty, Panjoma offer up quintessential mood driven songs also from the film with “Dangerous Dragon Fly,” and ”Reel” accordingly, while Travis Warren adds a blast of Southern down home rock n roll rock to the album with “I-40 Blues.”

More highlights on the CD are rap and hip-hop driven with topical songs, and quintessential partying tunes, from Los Marijuanos (recently signed to Sunset Urban Records) with their hit song, “Summertime,” along with Sunset Urban Recording act, Mista Latex with his “Let It Burn” song and Philadelphia native, Neele Scar with the song that also dawns the name of the film, “Weed Won The West,” are the perfect blend of raucous, melodic hip-hop / rap tunes that do tell this story and send its’ messages, on this full length Soundtrack CD. The Ronnell Sessions neo-soul rendition of “N-Day” effortlessly seeps in its Spanish influences, while at the same time, the quirky, pop artist, Norman A. Norman brings his “The Vapo Song (Vapo Vapo Vapo) song to the CD, while the roots reggae legend, I Kong (Tropical Records) adds his reggae style to the Soundtrack, with the inclusion of his popular world music song, “A Soldier Went To War.”

“The soundtrack is not only a favorite of mine,” says Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset Records, “it also tells a story just like the film would tell its story.” (Don) Lichterman goes on to say “The songs on the soundtrack are all dramatic in their own way,” and “the CD is not only fun, I also want people to be able to leave the CD on at parties without having to change it. Plus, every song sends a message related to the documentary film made by Kevin (Booth).”

All in all, the How Weed Won The West soundtrack CD is compiled very well while having songs on it, to be able to send a message related to the subject matter in the documentary film (in theatres this month). Sunset put this soundtrack together and compiled the artists on the CD in a very eclectic way. This compilation Soundtrack CD is for all music fans that like any genre and all style of music.

Songs from the Award Winning Documentary Film, American Drug War: The Last White Hope Have Been Compiled to be Made Available on Sunset Records Soundtracks

Songs from the award winning documentary film, American Drug War: The Last White Hope have been compiled to be made available on a soundtrack CD that is now in stores everywhere that sell music, sells music downloads, streams music & as ringtones.

New York, NY, June 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Sunset Records Soundtrack division has compiled music, songs and an incredible DJ-RX mix of the hit song, “White Lines” (Grandmaster Flash) song, with George Bush, Jr. on vox.

“One person can't make an entire movement by themselves,” (Don) Lichterman states. “I realize that it takes more than one person to build a movement and build something bigger than one self, which is why I am grateful to the participants on the soundtrack, and I am especially grateful to Kevin (Booth) for allowing me to use my resources to do my part to spread the word.”

Kevin Booth is not only the writer, producer, director, narrator on the award winning documentary film, American Drug War: The Last White Hope, he is also a participant on the soundtrack CD with his “Drug War I,” song collaborated with Nick Knoc. From his (Kevin Booth) own ambient, electronic styled song, to other eclectic, yet edgy songs on the CD that are alternative songs, rap songs, hip/hop songs, let alone the Blind Willy Johnson classic blues track, “Dark Is The Night.” The album appropriately starts off with a song by the newest Sunset Urban recording artist, Phillip Morris rapping his; “A Dysfunctional Family Affair” which (Don) Lichterman says, “is a song that tells this entire story.” The CD continues with other recognizable tracks from the film like Da-Watchman’s distinctive, “V-Town Krack Haus” and the “Intro Secret Sauce” track by Beat Banga. If the statement made by (Don) Lichterman, (Kevin) Booth and Sunset Records on this soundtrack CD release does not say enough, the documentary film is also a “a must see” says (Don) Lichterman, “this (American Drug War: The Last White Hope) documentary film, and the 'The Corporation' are two of the most important documentary films released over the last decade and honestly, everyone needs to see them both in their life.” “Overall though,” says (Don) Lichterman, “no one needs to watch the film or listen to the CD itself in order to have a strong liberal viewpoint about the legalization of marijuana today and how private prisons work to create a criminal justice system that aims to get people in their facilities, let alone works to keep people in that system, in a very pro active way.”

The songs on the CD definitely go across many formats, they were all chosen for their lasting impacting message and even though some of the songs are not necessarily tied to the drug theme or about using marijuana, Don Lichterman (head of Sunset Records) says to “listen to songs like 'A Dysfunctional Family Affair'” by the Chicago native, Phillip Morris, “which I put first on the album for the sole reason that he raps about criminal justice system in not only a creative way, he also sends his message in a concise way.” But then (Don) Lichterman says, “most of all, these are not songs about smoking pot and partying Charlie Sheen style, this is all aimed to send out what is a very important message for people to know about how our criminal justice system works today.” The obvious anthem and theme song by hip-hop / rap artist, Phillip Morris is first track on a CD with all original compositions, except of course, for incredibly produced DJ-RX mix of the popular rap song by Grandmaster Flash, “White Lines” done with Gorge Bush Jr. on vocals (taken and spliced together from speeches (George, Jr.) Bush had as President). Songs both accompanying the title credits of the film at the beginning of it, throughout the film, and music played at the end are also featured on the soundtrack CD. Even though the CD is being worked to radio across many formats, the hope is that it will also set up the urge to want to watch the documentary film (Currently at Netflix and available in stores like Amazon, etc.). There is no real way of getting away from the context in the film; however, the soundtrack CD, let alone the subject matter in the film are memorable work and great productions.

Weed

Husband-and-wife tandem Dan and Cristina Handrabur make up what is Weed!

The latest release from Weed contains many nuggets of musical works with ambient singer Cristina Handrabur that lends her beautifully distinctive vocals to songs on 'Visionary Sessions'. Both ( Dan and Cristina Handrabur) were both born in Bucharest Romania before each moved to live in Geneva. Dan began playing violin and is classically trained musically while garnering a scholarship to study at the Conservatoire de Geneve at the young age of sixteen (16) years old. Cristina began singing also at an early age in her teens with credits on many albums and placements of her music on many soundtrack CD's. As Weed, they blend ambiance, psychedelia, trip-hop and electronica elements into their own unique musical blend and top it with Dan's great playing styles and with Cristina’s distinctive vocals.

Oddly, Weed have been flying under the radar when it comes to music in mainstream world. People are now fast becoming more familiar with this act, and especially those listeners that are fans of Morcheeba, Lemon Jelly, The Cinematic Orchestra and Jazzanova. Fans of triphop in general and electronica music band will love this new album entitled 'Visionary Sessions.' This latest release does sound like an old formula in a modern era, and those that love music with a modern and sophisticated lounge feel to it, this is an album for you.

Earning a set of Technics DJ'ing at the landmark Club 58, Weed adapted the use of a Korg synthesizer and a Roland beat box. The new reality of composing and producing electronic music along with adding Cristina's soothing vocals, make up quintessential Weed. That overall sound is something that automatically makes the entire album accessible to all listeners. The combination of Dan's playing and Cristina's vocals makes them sound like they did the day they met to collaborate as one. The dreamy vocals and trip hop sound is what carries the band. And, the ability to produce sophisticated beats with flashy chords is what makes that cutting edge overall sound.

There is no doubt that we will hear certain songs be used on TV montages and in advertisements, and the band has already been placed in at least four Soundtrack (Suddenly Naked, Guilty, Free Enterprise & Bruiser) CD's to date. Drawn together by similar tastes in music and artwork, Dan and Cristina fell in love literally, and musically. After Dan moved with his family to Toronto, Canada (shortly after his graduation), a year later, Cristina joined him, and they married each other while they also they collaborated on music in Weed. Having relocated to Canada, they both quickly became known among a new electronic music community and have had great successes in large American cities like Detroit and throughout the entire United Kingdom. Their overall ambient sound is actually described as being more than the Industrial sounds any major populated city is more associated with today.

After the participation of many projects over the years (Outersanctum, Floatpoint, Vuemorph, Mere Mortals, Off And Gone, Weed), the duo has since returned to their native home in Romania to settle in a mountain village, and label head (Sunset Jazz Recordings) Don Lichterman, pleaded with them to allow the company to release this latest CD (Visionary Sessions). (Don) Lichterman says that “seeing them around horse drawn carriages, wooden stoves, secular traditional customs and lots of fresh air, the home of Outersanctum Studios is a goldmine of music and most of all, these guys play so well together; they compliment each others great talents.” (Don) Lichterman also says that “Dan continues to produce albums, tour all over in Europe and hopes to be able to travel to India to learn the techniques of Indian violin playing as well as the sarangi, an ancient, almost rudimentary stringed instrument with a distinctive sound.”

Cristina Handrabur says that “in the last years since we moved from Bucharest, we are enjoying a more natural life, growing our own vegetables and herbs, making our own wine, visiting and discovering new sacred places(where European civilization first started), forest trekking, experimenting and finding inspiration for new artwork.” (Don) Lichterman says that “this overall situation is a great recipe for success and most of all, they need to be heard big time.” He (Don Lichterman) ends by saying that he “will give them (Cristina and Dan Handrabur aka Weed) the most viable chances to be placed and they will have the most viable way to be heard by anyone in the world.”

The 'Visionary Sessions” twelve (12) CD is in stores on march 3rd and the new video of the song, “Truth Love Spirit“ is in all video outlets beginning this week. The full length CD is made up with the following beautiful sound recordings:

DJ Zevzek

DJ Zevzek is set to release the “Dis Duzzit CD!
Europe’s famous Disc Jockey (DJ) spinner known as DJ Zevzek has released his very own full length album, “Dis Duzzit.” The full-length album is filled with fourteen (14) original sound recordings and musical works of almost an hour and a half worth of constant grooves, making for a extensive mix of electronic and house material. It is being released with the Sunset Jazz (Recordings) Record label, at Sunset Classics & Jazz (SC&J). The album is entitled, “Dis Duzzit” and the album name is also a song named on the jazzy and groovy full length CD, and it is representative of one of the better types of traditional beats on a long form CD that has been released in a very long time.
DJ Zevzek is a European who's parents had fled the one time communist ruled Romania and he was eventually allowed to follow them which is where he learned to spin, mix and DJ. Referred to as a so called perfectionist DJ and 'spinner' “DJ Zevzek,” has been a quintessential house-music DJ since the very inception of the overall sound ad genre. “I, myself, have been influenced by some of the most innovative DJs from all over the world,” he (DJ Zevzek) says, his “influences are” wide and obscure calling on the likes of “Couleur 3 and Dr.Silk Sal, ” to help build on his grooving and colorful style.
This overall style was also built while using SL1200 turntables, a Korg Polisix and a TR606 drum box on the four track recorder he had used since he started spinning professionally in his career. But today, he is considered to be a modern styled DJ during live performances. His brand new CD (Dis Duzzit) is a high-quality and driving album that is pristine sounding from the first song to last song ('Hyperdiamonds') that is also the first single being released around the world. This collection is a work of art that is perfect for fans of DJ work and house music.
The new release, “Dis Duzzit,” showcases the DJ's influences bringing the beats and sounds together from albums and songs he grew up playing and listening to for a long time. On the new CD being released at Sunset (Jazz), is a touch of the old school coupled with the new and modern day sounds that are seamlessly blended. The brand new CD is a fresh batch of songs influenced by an old tradition, by mixing in his own influences making up this brand-new, 2015 release. His career as a DJ began while listening to 'pirate radio' on the French border and he (DJ Zevzek) says that the those sounds were “very funky electronic cuts” such as songs like 'Back to Mono' and while listening to the Dr. Silk Sal's radio program on pirate radio, led him showing up to visit him (Dr. Silk Sal) at the station and at his Petit Saconnex penthouse apartment which is where he discovered the SL1200 turntables that he says had “custom arms and styluses.” Dr. Silk Sal allowed the young DJ to scratch, mix, cut, drop tracks which soon gave him (DJ Zevzek) this musical and rhythm sound and in no time at all, the new DJ started making remixes of popular club songs using a capella, dub and instrumental versions. Soon after that, he (DJ Zevzek) started playing out live at places like Club 58 becoming their resident DJ. He then toured around the world playing everywhere in Europe and in major cities like Vancouver doing raves and after hours clubs while also producing and mixing original dance tracks for all out Roland jams along with live scratching and dubbing at the jam sessions and all nighters.
The popular DJ was also doing work for EA (Entertainment Arts) with songs now on the Quake 3 and NHL 98 production and games and the DJ has done work for the Frontline Assembly, a popular industrial group. “His album is a real, angelic sound of dance music that is a grooving, funky jazzy and wide opened free style set of music,” says Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset (Sunset Jazz Recordings) about this new LP set to hit stores on March 31, 2015. “It shows the world a great vibe on the entire CD and honestly, it takes me back to when I was doing the club scene in San Francisco, Philly (Philadelphia) and in New York City back in the mid ’90s. The DJ Zevzek then says about his new and debut CD with the Sunset label that this “new collection of dance tracks touches upon soul, funk, gospel and disco while remaining minimal, trippy and spacey.”
(Don) Lichterman also says about DJ Zevzek that he is “a customarily hard working man that believes that the sound of his (DJ Zevzek) music laid down on this full length fourteen (14) song CD will be a staple in this format and style which is very niche, yet also very popular with music fans from all around the world” and that “he considers the consistent and positive reaction of his fan base, this as DJ that will be around forever.”
“Dis Duzzit” by DJ Zevzek is available to stream online worldwide today, and the downloads and physical CD is available in stores that sell music on March 31st. Anyone can listen now and all fans of beats and dance music will be able to get the full length CD soon.

Kapital A

Hip Hop artist leaves you Wanting More!
When you think of Hip Hop music, the ideology of the Dancehall boom is a natural blend in styles that should come to mind.

Rapping, dancing, talking, chanting, and rhyming lyrics on rhythmic tracks is a natural ingredient on any hip hop album set. The sounds of the old school songs by the likes of Nat King Cole, Jackie Wilson, The Drifters and Fats Domino coupled with modern day Dancehall sessions by the likes of Beenie Man, Movado, Sean Paul, Shaggy and Damian Marley infuse what is Kapital A and most notably, is what is laid down on his latest CD entitled, Why Not: Special Edition.

The full length 20 song album has extreme flair that dramatically grows the art and style combining both formats in its complexity. Rather than raps and shouts, the melody and color are what make up this great set being released this week at Don Lichterman's Sunset Urban label. Kapital A's music ingrains that colorful flair in those melodies in every song all the way through the entire CD which is set underneath the red-hot lyrics.

Kapital A began playing at neighborhood parties and at festivals throughout Ohio and in Jamaica while incorporating and introducing these two huge influences while laying the groundwork for what would become Rap/Hip Hop fusion with a Dancehall style. Today HipHop, coupled with Dancehall music and even what can be described as a Reggaeton style have carried itself across the globe into America and into Jamaica to bring together new fans of both genres. "Hip Hop has gone through many stages of growth with many sub-formats and sub genres which is the not only the beauty of it, it is also the fine line of it” says the head of Sunset (Urban) Don Lichterman. “As an Indy label, releasing Hip Hop music into what is a wide opened field and while garnering the roots of the deep culture from before say it when it became commercialized into the mainstream is key, otherwise we are competing in a field of major recording artists with a ton of money behind its marketing push and as a matter of fact, most of rap and hip hop today is all based on how much money is behind it” explains (Don) Lichterman whose latest hip hop artist is a releasing a CD that has received rave reviews since setting up its release this month (January 2015).

"In reality and in my opinion with regard to the music industry, the early to mid-90's was one of the most creative periods of growth into the mainstream marketplace for hip-hop music," states Don Lichterman, who' was working at MCA (Records) back then while Indy Labels like Interscope and Geffen were breaking HipHop bands in huge ways and “from nothing to something” which is “our (Sunset) business model” today.

"Hip hop music today is basically Pop Music today and we are not competing with it on that level and with what are artists that are on the THREE (3) or FOUR (4) major labels,” Don Lichterman expresses himself more about the landscape of the HipHop format and genre today. "And, by adding that so called Jamaican flair and by incorporating what are great lyrics with colorful melodies is a thrill to me rather than working straight up pop Rap and this guy (Kapital A) is underground and Indy, but he is also very melodic with his music which makes it very easy for me to work!"

“The other thing I love is working anything with added value and therefore selling a 20 song CD for say $9.99 a unit is great for the label," Don Lichterman ends the conversation by reiterating the Why Not: Special Edition CD is a bargain with 20 songs on a full length and extended CD set.
