CA$HCAT is a psychedelic electropop duo from Vancouver, British Columbia composed of producer/songwriter Devon Zachary and vocalist/songwriter Sonja Violette. Formed in the summer of 2010, CA$HCAT set out to create their own brand of tripped-out pop music. During the rainy winter of 2010, CA$HCAT self-produced their debut full-length Big Red Box - an original sonic experience comprised of synths, laptops, voices, guitars and samples.
Since releasing Big Red Box CA$HCAT has been compared to Beastie Boys, Stereolab, Zapp + Roger and Talking Heads. The early months of 2011 saw CA$HCAT move into a new studio, recording demos and creating an Ableton-based performance, debuting live at Vancouver's legendary Railway Club.
