James Anthony

Premier Big Band Vocalist

Artist   Producer   Musician

James Anthony is an award winning vocalist that truly brings you in to feel the music with his voice in the way he delivers his songs to tell a story. James has a unique and different natural baritone vocal tone with warmth, grit and a super range to deliver a wonderful fresh perspective to the songs he sings.

Those that have seen James live know and feel his melodic dynamic tone and how it brings you into the song so you can feel every word only to see tough men cry and the women swoon. Wow!

James' history involves his family moving from Queens, NY, to Las Vegas in 1968 when he was 8 years old. His parents started him in music classes that year where he started playing drums and percussion and then began singing throughout his four years in high school as a baritone/bass. Singing within the varsity & male choirs gave James the education of harmony and the love for singing.

Growing up in Las Vegas, James was a bare knuckle scrapper during his teen years and understood what it took to live and survive in Vegas at a young age. His NY Irish/Italian family and relatives all worked in the casino business and surrounded with constant big band sounds of Sinatra, Elvis, Dino, Tom Jones, Bobby Darin, Doris Day and so on. This cat's got it in his blood, and man does he deliver!

After honorably serving in the U.S. Navy for 4 1/2 years, James returned to music to begin a successful music career in Los Angeles and Vegas. Performing as a session drummer/percussionist/backup singer with various record labels, including RCA Records and GMA Agency artists during the 80s,

Family heritage, childhood surroundings and teen brawls of Vegas may have set life's stage for James, but when you hear him live, you're inserted into his heartfelt world through song; his voice. You feel it in songs like Send In The Clowns, Drinking Again, Blues In The Night, Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out To Dry and Old Man River to list a few. James brings back that sound from an era of Authors Magic.
