"Today Is All We Have" is a pop gospel-inspired modern R&B song that serves as an uplifting anthem. The lyrics, penned by O. Akram and P. Rafelson, paint a vivid picture of hope and resilience. The song begins in a place of darkness and lost dreams, but quickly shifts to focus on the light that resides within each person. With a powerful message of seizing the present moment, the song reminds listeners to embrace their dreams and live fully. The catchy chorus encourages reaching for the stars, spreading one's wings, and embracing the unknown. It emphasizes the importance of living in the present, as yesterday's dreams are just memories and tomorrow remains a mystery. The bridge further reinforces the themes of love and unity, suggesting that through love, we can conquer any challenge. With its blend of soulful vocals, contemporary R&B production, and a touch of gospel influence, "Today Is All We Have" creates a melodic and inspiring atmosphere, leaving listeners motivated to embrace the opportunities of the present and pursue their dreams fearlessly.
BiographySinger and songwriter Shannon Moore crafts songs that are sharp and intelligent, full of unique observational detail and big themes, and she isn't afraid to get raw and controversial. Born and raised in Houston, Moore got her first guitar when she was ten years old, and by the time she was 12 she had already written her first song. After spending her high school years at an all girls boarding school in Massachusetts, Moore moved to Los Angeles to attend USC, then landed a co-pub development deal with Sony Music Publishing. She got her first 10 placements on 2 seasons of a Canadian teen drama, she then relocated to Vancouver, where she formed the band Deep Julia. With a built in fan base, Deep Julia opened shows for Radiohead, Peter Frampton, and Jewel to name a few. The group recorded an indi label album in Oakland, but the band grew impatient when the label stalled the release, and Deep Julia disbanded. Since all of the songs on the album were hers, Moore kept shopping it around while continuing to write and record. Her songs began showing up regularly on movie and TV soundtracks. LTD, which essentially was the Deep Julia project, found a home in 1999 from FMA Records, quickly attracting some excellent reviews. Then tragically, Shannon was in a near fatal head on collision, which lacerated her liver. Grateful to be alive, she chose to marry and have 2 children in the new millennium. Always keeping busy, she released a sweet, self produced acoustic lullaby CD thru Baby Apparel line, BabyBoo, Inc. One day, she opened an email asking, "Are you signed?" Within 6 months, Shannon recorded and released her official sophomore album, Evaporate, through UMG distributed 10 Spot Label, part of the Water Music Records Group. It was this record that made Shannon's music available world wide, with her own Pandora Station, an Itunes account , and her songs and story available at virtually all notable music platforms. WMG continues to market her thru it's compilations reaching the coffeehouse, hotel, airline, and yoga markets. Simultaneously, Shannon slowly but surely continues to build her song catalog, keeping her publishing, and adding film credits.
