Searching the universe...
The House On The Hill brings some incendiary performances that should really catapult the band to international attention.
Sunset Records recording artist, House On The Hill remain as one of the “best kept secrets” in pop rock music today.
The House On The Hill debut album illustrates their down home funk style coupled with a pop mainstream appeal, making up a solid full length album with “Punk Ass.” House On The Hill's music shows off its worldwide accessible appeal without any blurred lines between spiritual devotion, lack of asceticism, and any influences in rock music history. Nevertheless, underneath the pathos and great irony in the songs off Punk Ass, they are excellent lyricists, and their songs draw the line between dance and down home rock. It's very easy to see how the “Punk Ass” CD can become a widely-loved album of great rock music across the nation and around the world, which given the final product of this debut House On The Hill CD, they could very well hit big over the next few years at Sunset.
After a couple of years, House On The Hill is banking on getting a lot of recognition with Don Lichterman and Sunset Records (Digital Distribution with Interscope/A&M) working their debut album, Punk Ass. The initial single being worked to radio, 'Home Away From Home', is just one of the songs being worked to radio over the next few months. “There are at least five (5) songs that I want worked to radio by this band,” says Don Lichterman, the Head of Sunset Records.
This London and Israeli exponents make up the strong sounding production throughout the entire CD—(Don) Lichterman goes onto to say that “they (House On The Hill) were in the studio for most of this year (2009) and I am very anxious to get this set up at retail and at college radio as soon as possible this year let alone by next year (2010).” In fact, “Punk Ass” sounds like Lenny Kravitz at times and even has that Alabama 3 (The Sopranos Theme Song) vibe to its down home music. House On The Hill does prove their sincerity to American roots styled music with an entire album filled with great rock songs great to dance to at any time. With songs like "She’s Not A Woman," “Annie,” and the song that dawns the same album title name, “Punk Ass,” the rest of the disc is a solid sounding ten (10) song album.
Sunset is surely off to a great start in 2010 with the release of the Punk Ass CD by House On The Hill set up for January 26th, this is first new CD being distributed through the Interscope/A&M/Geffen digital distribution channel.

Mov Sessian Project Available From Sunset Classics this month
Clarinetist Claudine Movsessian is one of the most acclaimed classical artists that has manifested in music today - renowned for her melodic, polished, dignified, imaginative, creative clarinet work and for her broad undertaking in delivering a modern day classical tradition to broader and youthful avid listener. Over the past few years, she has recorded many musical works including some of the best clarinet repertoire of the current day. Now, Sunset Classics is proud to announce that (Claudine) Movsessian has brought together two other music aficionados (Ema Dei and Dan Handrabur) for what is the first time recording of a full length album of masterpieces on its' debut self titled CD with Sunset (Classics). On this first release at the Sunset Classics & Jazz (SC&J) company, (Claudine) Movsessian performs her glorious clarinet works, along with a never-before-released 'clarinet and orchestral' arrangements of sound recordings, on a twelve (12) song full length album. The self titled debut album, is available in stores on February 10.
“This is one of the most traditional American klezmer albums that I have ever heard” says Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset, although that applies to the klezmer component of this intriguingly melange of music in general. French clarinetist Claudine Movsessian has gathered friends and created something quite different, yet timeless. Movsessian's clarinet is driving on the first single and the first video entitled "Heyser Bulger", as the trio blends in Rom fiddling to "Oi mama, bin ich verlieb." “There is also a sense of improvisation that pushed its' music to the edges of classical styles, yet it is very accessible for any avid music listener,” (Don) Lichterman continues to say about the self titled CD. “Overall, it is indeed a tad different from typical American klezmer music but there is that international feel throughout all of the recordings on it” states (Don) Lichterman.
The middle eastern style drums help make up the rhythms on the several klezmer and Yiddish ensembles and (Claudine) she has gathered musicians from around the world, that make up the diverse group. Influences include not only klezmer styles and what be described as Yiddish, its Middle Eastern rhythms are accompanied by clarinet krechts, that make up a lively and what has been described as syncopated classical compositions. The trio that make up the Mov Sessian Project blend itself gently together which creates a powerful group and moreover, a high leveled album from the beginning to the end of it.
(Claudine) Movessian's clarinet playing is second to none and the percussion work is a great blend for fans of world music and of klezmer styled music. The approach to building the songs on this debit album with Sunset (Classics) has been continuously evolving for many years. It just happened to culminate on what became this self titled album. “What fascinates me is how the beauty of the music shines through each song in such a lively way” says (Don) Lichterman, and is “performed in such a 'romantic' way too which is hard to accomplish this day and age.” (Claudine) Movsession has had the ability to now collaborate with two amazing crossover music artists, Ema Dei and Dan Handrabur, two music 'specialists' that have helped revolutionize the way that world music and electronic styled music is looked at today. They have all incorporated their own musical philosophies to create this very unique movement if you will, in this international style of music.
In its approach to making a 'modern' yet rooted group of songs on the CD, the hope is to fuse the old with the new, which is key to being a viable classical music artist in this modern day. Claudine Movsessian and her Mov Sessian project has only been an exclusive Sunset Classical artist for less than year, and they have already captured the attention of classical music listeners in no time at all, and in essence is alluring its audiences worldwide with her breathtaking playing and with the overall tones that are just wonderful to hear.

It has come as no surprise when No-Limitt gained critical acclaim for their debut World Music and African Styled album Gbakurumo (Hold On) back in 2011. That crossover from a pure Nigerian and African artist, to a Top 40 Pop artist is why the main duo of the group is set to release their sophomore release with Tropical Records is entitled,Let The World Unit.
The first single being worked to radio stations around the world is the hit song, 'Celebration Of Life.' With more than 533 spins last week (up from 395 plays in its first week at radio), two PD's have already rated the song at a perfect “10” score rating while Maurizio Santi and Dee Jay Santi at Radio Mela, Modena Radio City and at Radio Mela states the first single as the “Future Hit summer 2014?” Also, 100% of all revenues gained by the sales and plays at YouTube of the 'African Life' Song and Music Video, go direct to the Stop Wild Life Crime at the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature). The video has already churned out more than 15,000 views before the street date and after about three weeks of being posted online.
The audacious duo is now set to release their second full length 10-track album "Let The World Unite", a fusion of straight up pop music along with a World Music base. The overall sound is traditional and accessible, especially if you won some type of sporting event or if you are just winning at life, the 'Celebration Of Life' single is an uplifting “It's A Small World” like vibe that is just righteous when it comes to living life happily. There are great hooks that will keep you singing along and the album is filled with songs and sounds with a steady bass line of African house rhythms known to be the “AfroLife Master” in the world of No-Limitt.
The entire album for that matter sends out great messages on so many levels. Its a very uplifting album keeping focused to their overall sound, however, most of the songs on this current CD are done in English which has been perfect for placement at radio and with regard to licensing (Debut CD was all sung in Nigerian and African). All songs are written by Skeldee and Danny who make up the main Duo part of No-Limitt. The entire new CD was Produced, Mixed and mastered by Emzreel Simeon at the Green Studio in Nigeria.
Songwriters/composers/singers Skeldee and Danny are the main vocalists and producer (Emzreel) Simeon no doubt went right at the mainstream to target the every listener and notably, the young, teenage and dance crowd - and so far, it has been great for the band. The result seen on this new CD is a fun and delightful collection of World Music and Pop Songs that reach out to ever walk of life that loves life. This album is an incredible way to show the true African form of expression which is great for music today.
No-Limitt's music and songs are about political issues, social issues such as abuse, poverty and the need for more education. It is their positive outlook on life that has given No-Limitt their individual quality in their music and that respect for life is what is heard in their music. More music and songs that round off the album are full of upbeat material with that steady bass line and wonderful melodies that has make up that great energy on this album. They also deliver songs with beautiful vocals and harmonies on the rest of the songs like “Keep Hope Alive”, “Asiko Mi (My Time)”, “Let The World Unite”, “African Life (Afrolife)”, “Oti Ya (It’s Happening)”, “Celebration Of Life”, “Ibadinijo (Wine Your Waist)”, “Happy Birthday”, “Enemies”, “Ore Te Se Funmi (Good Things You Have Done For Me)".
